Beside the gold production started in late 2017 in the Lapseki project and, the basic and detailed engineering works
of the İvrindi Gold Silver Mine Project, which is located at the boundaries of Küçükılıca Değirmenbaşı and Karadere,
60 km from Balıkesir city center, have been completed and the construction phase started in 2018. The investment is
expected to be completed in June 2019 and the production will be started.
Within the scope of the Project, gold and silver minerals will be obtained from 4 pits (namely the Ballıktepe, Karteldere,
Kabaktepe and Güney-Boyun pits). Extraction shall be performed via explosive mining methods. The produced ore will
be subjected to enrichment process by tank leaching and dore will be obtained as final product. The feasibility of the
project is based on Canadian standards NI-43-101. In the light of these studies it is planned to open 4 pits within the
scope of the Project. It is estimated that a total amount of 964.602 ounces of gold and 2.350.997 ounces of silver are
contained in the pits. The ratios of gold per ton and silver per ton are 0,67 g and 1,62 g, respectively. Within the scope
of the Project, the total ore production will be 45M tons and the total waste production will be 101M tons. Within
the scope of the project, the ore / waste ratio is 1/2 and the millisecond delayed blasting method will be applied in
the open pit operation. Open pit management in the field will consist of five basic step: drilling, blasting, excavation,
haulage and dumping of the ore.
The ore will be removed from the storage area and broken into small pieces. After pelleting, a solution of cyanide
diluted with a network of pipelines will be poured into the ore in heap leach zones and dripped by a drip method. This
solution will dissolve the gold in the crushed ore. The gold barren solution will be converted into gold and silver dore
bar in the ADR unit. After the heap leaching process, the heaps will be washed and top soil will be laid and replanted.
In the project, 700.000.000 TL (Seven hundred thousand Turkish Lira) investment expenditure will be made,
including preliminary research, drilling, operation and rehabilitation. During the 10-year production period, with the
employment of one thousand people and with local, regional and national acquisitions, the direct contribution of 4.5
billion Turkish liras will be one of the important projects of the region and the national economy with the benefit of
18 billion Turkish liras.
TÜMAD aims to contribute to the national education and mining sector by providing qualified labor force and to
contribute directly to increasing the competencies by strengthening the practices with practical and practical
applications. In line with social responsibility, economic development and education policies, a protocol will be signed
with the Ministry of Education on Vocational Training Cooperation on 8.11.2017 and undertook the construction of
“Mining Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School” in İvrindi district of Balıkesir province.
