Can you tell us about what you have accomplished at Nurol in
the last seven years?
Our biggest undertaking to date has been the Highway Project,
which is due for completion at the end of 2019. Throughout this
period, we have increased the consolidated assets of the Group of
Companies from ₺3 billion to ₺12 billion, and have accompanied
our incubated subsidiaries throughout their journey to maturity,
and continue to do so. We are looking to grow Nurol Technologies
Inc., Nurol Makina and Tümad by reinforcing their financial
structures, and have also provided financial and managerial
support to the changing management of NGYO (Real Estate
Investment Trust) regarding their new strategies. When I first
examined the IFRS reports, I saw that they were prepared by
a consultancy company, but we decided to have these reports
produced by the Group, for which we prepared the necessary
infrastructure and provided relevant training. Today, we draw
up our own reports, which are then only audited by external
companies.

What is the first word or group of words that comes to your
mind when I say “Nurol”?

Of course I am trying engage in my hobbies as much as I can.
First of all, I am as busy in my social life as I am in my working
life. We have great fun when we spend our holidays together as a
family. We go skiing every winter; I am very good at skiing. In the
summer months, we generally go to the southern coasts and to
the Greek islands. Even during my business trips abroad, I try to
explore the cities that I visit whenever I can. For the time being,
we prefer entertainment-oriented holidays, and I hope we will be
able to enjoy culture and nature tours when we retire.
How about other times? How do you relax?

We have rest on Sundays as a family, and spend time together
unless something very important comes up. This is something
that makes me very happy.

Do you have any goals in life?
As I am a very organised person, you may think it a little
ironic that I like living based on the idea that there may be no
tomorrow. I attach importance to being successful, and want
others to remember me as a nice person. My biggest goal is to be
remembered as a good father.
