o give information relating to ongoing highway construction works after we mentioned above the construction techniques and works
of the Izmir Bay Crossing Bridge and South Access Viaduct; while over 37% of the motorway construction works in the scope of the
Phase-I between Gebze - İznik (South) Crossroad (Km: 0+000-58+300) was completed, the tunnel excavation on four panels in the
Samanlı Tunnel is rapidly continuing, and by the end of August 2013 in total four panels, the cumulative progress of the upper-half
Texcavation will be 4089 m, lower half excavation 3.943 m, invert 1.011 m and arch concrete 816 m, and on the other hand we can
say that the head beams and support installations have been carried out in the production of concrete bridges and viaducts (K1-BRANCH1 and
BRANCH2, V1, V2, V3 ,V4 and V5) and I-Beams, the production of which was made in the field, started to be put in their places. About the land
works, we can say that a large part of manufacturing of rock fills especially between Km: 34+350-43+296 has been completed and motorway
body reached up to the level of terracing (regulating).
