Located on the Tigris River, the project is the last cornerstone of
Southeastern Anatolia Development Project(GAP). DEspite being
constructed mainly for power production purpose, it will also provide
the major reservoir area required for the irrigation purposed Cizre
Dam to be built at its downstream for the irrigation of Cizre Plain.
