The tube tunnel and 5 stations of Marmaray Project, which intends to integrate all rail systems in Istanbul with each other,
were put into service with a ceremony held on October 29th Gül, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the ministers as
well as the President of Somali Hasan Sheikh Mahmud, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and Prime Minister of Romania
Viktor Ponta. In his speech at the opening Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated: “Marmaray is a peace project
from Beijing to Tokyo and to London. We shall celebrate the 100th Erdoğan also extended his gratitude to the project’s
Turkish contractor companies Nurol and Gama as well as the Japanese company TAISEI. The opening ceremony in Üsküdar
was attended by President Abdullah anniversary of our Republic with even greater works.”
