BOUKHROUFA
DAM
Boukhroufa Dam is located at east of Algeria, close to
Tunisia border and 20 km south of El Tarf city. The Region
is the most rainy region of Algeria. With a capacity of
125 million m the dam is a water reservoir and the water

within it will be used for agriculture. Crest length of the
dam is planned as 883 m and crest height is planned as
87 m.
Dam, which is designed as clay cored earth fill, comprises
7.000.000 m³ earthmove, 280 metric diversion gallery,
900 metric grouting gallery, 80.000 m³ pavement and
30.000 ml grout works.
In our project, body slope, bringing canal and upstream
coffer dam excavations are completed. Intake structure
pile foundations, upstream coffer dam slurry trench, body
foundation excavations, diversion canal concrete works
still continue. While left coast temporary diversion, which
is a very important milestone for the project is completed
permanent diversion works are continuing in order to be
done at the year of 2016.
SOUK TLETA DAM
Souk Tleta Dam, which is the 2 project

undertaken in Algeria, with its yearly 98
million m water holding capacity and current

distribution line is planned to meet the drinking
water and water requirement of Tizi Ouzou
province to Boumerdes province and Capital City
Algeria.
PROJECTS fill, with collar berm comprises 3.000.000 m 3

tunnel, 525 metric injection galleries, 105.000
m3 concrete and 50.000 ml injection works.
Diversion tunnel entry mirror excavation in the
project still continue. Collar Berm and Spillway
excavation works has also started. Due to
expropriation problems around the lake area,
works has been stopped by the employer and
pending.
