Within the scope of our Project, in addition to the immersed
tube tunnel works completed last year, our Tunnel Boring
Machine (TBM) has also completed its works at Yedikule -
Yenikapı section as of December 2011.

The Project is foresighted to be completed in October 2013
and as of today mainly the works are in progress at stations.

On January 14th, in the presence of the Prime Minister,
Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, Minister of Transport, Maritime
Affairs and Communications Binali YILDIRIM, Minister for EU
Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen BAĞIŞ and Minister of
Defence İsmet YILMAZ, the “First Rail Welding Ceremony” was
held.

In his speech during the ceremony, the Prime Minister
Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN said “The Marmaray Project, I
emphasize here, is not Istanbul’s Project. Marmaray is the
whole Turkey’s Project; it is a cross-continental Project that
connects Europe and Asia; it is worldwide important project”
and at the end of the ceremony, on behalf of contractor joint
venture companies, a railway car model was presented to the
Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, by the Chairman of
Nurol Holding Nurettin ÇARMIKLI , the Honorary Chairman of
Gama Holding Erol ÜÇER and TAISEI Project Director Mr. OHMI.
