“The Gebze-Izmir Highway, which includes
the Osmangazi Bridge – the fourth longest
suspension bridge in the world and the second
longest in Europe – is an exemplary project
in every way, thanks to our legal and non-
contractual infrastructure, financial documents
and management approach. Our project has
shortened the distance between Istanbul and
Izmir by 100 km, reducing the journey time to 3.5
hours. The project will contribute further to the
economy along its route in terms of production
and employment.”

The “İstanbul-İzmir Highway”, which has put its stamp on the history
of the Turkish Republic as a milestone Build-Operate-Transfer project
that includes also Osmangazi Bridge, one of the longest suspension
bridges in the world, was entered into service on August 4
2019 with the participation of H.E. President Recep Tayyip
ERDOĞAN. M. Oğuz ÇARMIKLI, Vice Chairman of the Board
of Directors, presented a plaque to President ERDOĞAN
to mark the occasion.
