DOUERA The Douera Dam, located near Douera district 27 km southern
west of Algiers, the capital city, is the first project having been
realized in Algeria by NUROL. The Douera Dam shall provide
potable water for the Alger city as well as irrigation water to the
farm lands (17.200 Ha) in the Mitidja plain. The Dam was totally
completed including the works of the 2 years warranty period
that the final acceptance was performed on 5 October 2016.
DAM The inauguration of the Dam was performed on 4 July 2015 by
his excellency Abdulmalek SELLAL, Prime Minister of Algeria,
and the reservoir impounding had been initiated since then.
The Souk Tleta Dam, the second project of NUROL in Algeria,
has a 100 million m water-retention capacity, which will be

used for potable water supply to Boumerdes and Algiers cities
of the Country. The Dam is a zoned earth fill embankment with SOUK
a total volume of 3.000.000 m earth-moving including the side

embankment. The project consists of two 8 m diameter diversion
tunnels of each 375 m length, a scheme of injection galleries
totally 525 m length, 105.000 m³ concrete and 50.000 m drilling
for the grout curtain. TLETA
After the project remained suspended for 4 years owing to the
expropriation problems in the lake area, the works have been
resumed eventually since July 2016. Until to date, driving of both
diversion tunnels were performed by rock blasting and the tunnel
concrete lining has been completed recently where as excavation DAM
of the diversion tunnels inlet structure has been completed
meantime. The fill placement for the side embankment is on the
completion stage. The works are carried out at an accelerated
pace for achievement of the river diversion in 2017.

The works for the cofferdam and spillway has been commenced
after realization of the deviation of the RN25 state road at date
23 May 2017.
