“SHARPSHOOTER” TURRETS BELONGING TO MALAYSIA’S ZMA(ADNAN)
PROJECT ARE BEING DEVELOPED
Within the scope of this Project started with a contract
signed in 2008, tracked armored combat vehicles
in different configurations will be delivered to the
Malaysian Armed Forces. There will be turrets on these
vehicles equipped with different main weapons able to
provide the vehicles with battle capability. These turrets
are a variation of the Sharpshooter 25mm one-man turret
capable of stabilization manufactured by FNSS. The
turrets will have 25 mm Bushmaster automatic revolver,
40 mm automatic bomb-firing gun, and 12.7 mm
machine gun. All turrets will feature 7.62 mm co-axial
machine gun as an auxiliary weapon.
Sharpshooter 25 mm one-man turret
FNSS Sharpshooter turret is a weapon system that is
one-man, electric-driven, with stabilization capability
enabling high hit probability from a vehicle on the move.
. Moving day and night is possible due to the gunner
sight system at the turret.
The turret which will be equipped with 40mm automatic
grenade launcher (AGL) and 12.7mm machine gun in
the Malaysian ACV (Adnan) Project, are new products
by FNSS and they will be designed and manufactured
completely by FNSS. The design of these turrets is
12.7 mm machine gun 40 mm automatic bomb-firing gun underway in the R&D department, and the first delivery
of the turrets will take place in July of 2010.
