COMPLIANCE PROJECT In today%u2019s globalized economy, implementing corporate compliance programs has become a necessity for operating lawfully, securely, and effectively managing international risks. Since its establishment, Nurol Holding A.%u015e. has remained committed to conducting its operations across diverse sectors and regions in strict adherence to both local and international regulations.Nurol Holding A.%u015e. has recently decided to further institutionalize its commitment to compliance by launching a comprehensive Compliance Project in January 2024. This initiative, developed under the guidance of the U.S.-based law firm Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP, aims to establish an effective Compliance Program tailored to meet the demands of global developments. The Compliance Project is based on Nurol Holding A.%u015e.%u2019s Compliance Policies and focuses on four primary areas: international sanctions, export control obligations, anti-money laundering, and anti-bribery and corruption. As part of the project's initial phase, a large-scale training session was held on March 12, 2024, at the Sheraton Hotel to raise awareness among employees. The session, led by Attorney Ba%u015fak %u00c7ankayal%u0131, Legal Counselor for International Law and Compliance at Nurol Holding, covered two key topics: Living with Sanctions in International Trade and Combatting Bribery and Corruption. During the first session, participants explored the concept of international sanctions, their objectives, the authorities responsible for enforcing them, and the potential consequences of non-compliance. Practical examples were provided to enhance understanding. The second session offered a comprehensive overview of national and international legislation concerning anti-bribery and corruption, equipping attendees with essential knowledge in this critical area.The Compliance Project aims to guide all Nurol Group companies, executives, employees, and business partners in adapting to global developments while ensuring adherence to the group%u2019s own Compliance Policies, and, by extension, to local and international regulations.FEBRUARY 2025 36.
