Mr. Şenel mentioned that Turkish National Police required a higher ballistic protection Riot Control Vehicle (TOMA) compared to the current available ones and stated the following: ‘We’re developing Riot Control Vehicle (TOMA) for Turkish National Police. This would mean a new Project, thicker armour, higher weight. There’s no commercial truck to offer resistance to this. For this reason, we have assigned Nurol Makina and Industry Inc. for the development of new Riot Control Vehicle (TOMA) that would pass through all military testing processes. A new vehicle having thicker armour and therefore, a higher ballistic protection level is not a serial product one can purchase from a shelf. All necessary tests from 50.000 km-long road testing to ballistic tests will be performed. Following the signing of the contract, requirements were met by the company and relevant calendar started off on February 25th.’
