Libya has always been the favorite of Turkish contractors. And nowadays too the interest by the contracting companies in this country still continues. The underlying issue for this interest is the USD160 billions allocated for infrastructure investments. More than 20 Turkish construction companies are doing business in Libya. The goal of these companies is to get a share of around USD4050 billions of this amount. A lot of companies from Güriş to TAV, from Gaman to Nurol are set out to reconstruct Libya. Libya is being renovated through its infrastructure and cities. The renovated Libya has also become the favorite of Turkish contractors. It has been disclosed in Libya that in the 57 year period ahead of us new infrastructure investments worth USD160 billions will be brought to life. Until 2015, USD13 billions fort he building of 420 thousand residences, and USD 14 billions for the construction of infrastructure fort these residences. A total of USD 5,6 billion Western Libye gas Project and the electric power plant are among the main components of the growth in the construction sector in the country. This mobility in Libya also attracts the interest of the Turkish contracting companies. In this country, the works undertaken by the Turkish contractors have reached the amount of USD2,2 billions in 2008. Furthermore, the fact that 200 large contracting projects will be tendered in 2009, this is one of the reasons why the contracting companies are not leaving this country.
