After the establishment of the Turkish Republic, the success in aviation field and wish for manufacture decreased during the period leading to NATO membership. After a long lasting gap in 1970s in regards to the defence industries, Turkey, entered a new era because of the embargo issue which became visible with Cyprus problem.
