It has been reported the Osmangazi Bridge, if to be referred with its official name, which is the most important pillar of the Gebze-Orhangazi-İzmir highway project and was a matter of debate for a long time due to the toll rates, will be put into service before Ramadan. Private vehicle drivers will be able to cross the bridge, which will be unveiled before Ramadan, at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour. Heavy traffic has formed at the Bay Suspension Bridge with works ceaselessly ongoing 24 hours a day. Shuttle minibuses carrying workers, forklifts, cranes, material handling trucks are currently using the bridge that has a speed limit of 10 kilometers per hour. The construction works of the motorway service area, located at the Gebze exit of the Bay Suspension Bridge, are also uninterruptedly continuing. Gas station and various stores will be opened for business once the construction is completed. The contentious toll, which led to the confrontation between the Ministry and citizens is 35 dollars + VAT, on which the Ministry of Transportation has made no statements yet.
