The 4th Türkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum, hosted by the Ministry of Trade in cooperation with the African Union and organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), took place in Istanbul on October 12-13, 2023, under the motto “Paving the Way for Opportunities and Stronger Economic Cooperation”. The forum highlighted new trade routes as part of its agenda.
After President Erdoğan’s speech, the Trade and Economic Cooperation Agreement between Türkiye and the Union of the Comoros was signed. Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat and Minister of Post, Telecommunications, and Digital Economy of the Union of the Comoros, Kamalidine Souef, signed the agreement. Following this, Erdoğan and the President of the Union of the Comoros, Azali, presented awards to executives from six companies. These companies had developed projects across the African continent and had made significant contributions to the development of trade relations within Africa.
The awards were presented to Nurol Holding Vice Chairman Oğuz Çarmıklı, Miller Holding CEO & Milvest Chairman Turhan Mildon, Aksa Enerji Board Member Cemil Kazancı, Albayrak Holding Chairman Ahmet Albayrak, Doğanlar Holding Vice Chairman Adnan Doğan, and Turkish Aerospace President and CEO Prof. Temel Kotil. The 4th Türkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum, sponsored by Nurol, Miller Holding, Aksa, Albayrak, Doğanlar, Kolin, Turkish Aerospace, Selpak, Taypa Tekstil, Koluman, Ford Truck, and Afrika Finance Corporation, concluded with bilateral business meetings following the Türkiye-Africa Business Awards Ceremony held as part of the TABEF Ceremony.
