The vehicles and anti-tank turrets developed within the scope of the Anti-Tank Vehicles Project, which will increase the strike power of the Turkish Armed Forces, successfully passed the tests carried out shortly before the start of deliveries. The Anti-Tank Vehicles Project is being carried out under a contract signed between the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and FNSS, one of Turkey’s armoured land vehicles manufacturers. FNSS, which made the lightest member of the KAPLAN vehicle family ready for production as a tracked anti-tank vehicle, and the PARS 4×4 vehicle as a wheeled anti-tank vehicle, successfully integrated the KORNET missile into its anti-tank turret last year, and integrated ROKETSAN’s Medium Range Anti-Tank Weapon System (OMTAS missile) this year.
While the first OMTAS firing from KAPLAN while stationary was successfully conducted in February, the vehicle has since then reached a maturity level that allows firing when on the move. In recently conducted tests, Turkey’s “new generation anti-tank vehicles” PARS and KAPLAN, were integrated with the OMTAS missile, successfully hit the intended targets while the vehicles were on the move. The first KAPLAN anti-tank vehicles will soon be presented to the Turkish Land Forces as a pilot delivery. Under the project, a total of 260 vehicles will be delivered.
