Otoyol Yatırım ve İşletme, a company involved in motorway projects and management, will complete the final stage of the Gebze-Orhangazi-İzmir Motorway Project in 2019. Yavuz Batum, CEO of Otoyol Yatırım ve İşletme, stated that the final section of the project, linking Saruhanlı and Bursa will, according to plans, be opened to traffic in October 2019, marking the completion of the motorway that has a total length of 405 kilometres. “The final stage of this project, which has involved a total investment of $8 billion, will be opened to traffic by November 2019, running between Izmir and Saruhanlı and featuring seven intersections, two viaducts, 52 bridges and the 1.6-kilometre Belkahve Tunnel. The 2.2-kilometre Bornova Viaduct incorporated into this motorway is Turkey’s longest,” Batum said.
