Sarp-Zafer, one of the latest weapon systems developed by Aselsan, was put through its paces for the first time in Qatar. The system successfully passed its field firing tests, performed under desert conditions integrated with Nurol Makina’s Yörük 4×4 armoured combat vehicle. The system has the ability to be loaded from within the vehicles, meaning that personnel do not have to put themselves at risk by exiting the vehicle when the ammo runs out. The field tests in Qatar are expected to serve as a significant reference for the targeted high-volume contracts. Nurol Makina has already received substantial purchase orders from Qatar for its Ejder Yalçın and Yörük platforms, and these orders also cover various weapons systems, including Sarp-Zafer, being both Yörük 4×4’s and Sarp-Zafer’s first export successes.
