After the historic Zeynel Bey Tomb and Artuklu Baths in Batman, the tomb section of Imam Abdullah Zawiya, which is in Ilısu Dam lake area, was moved to its new place in Hasankeyf Cultural Park Area. The tomb section of Imam Abdullah Zawiya, which weighs 850 tons, will be transported in three sections and loaded into 256-wheel, self-propelled modular system (SPMT) vehicle on the night before. Transplantation of the tomb to its new location at a distance of 2 thousand 400 meters was completed yesterday. It is stated that the minaret section of Zawiya will be moved in the week. Three historical works, which had 300-600 meters of distance between each other before, were placed at 100 meters from each other in their new places. State Water Works (DSI) Deputy Director General Murat Dagdeviren, who made the transportation, emphasized that the Zawiya was built in 12th century in the period of Artuks. Dağdeviren said “The transport of 800-tonne masonry was more critical than the transports we have done so far, because there are asymmetries in various parts of the structure. So more precise transport was required”.
