96% of Ilısu Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP), the world’s largest dam in terms of body volume and crest length in the category of rock-filled dams with concrete-filled profile and the vision project, built by General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, has been completed.
The rotor weighing 460 tons, one of the most important phases of the electromechanical assembly work of Ilısu Dam and HEPP that have been built on 135 meters of altitude from the foundation and that will generate an average of 4,12 billion kW/h energy per year, and 2 plant buildings weighing 250 tons each were successfully descended to its place with the aid of the main crane.
