While the ‘Eastern Mediterranean-2023 Exercise’ organized by the Turkish Naval Forces Command was ongoing, the domestically manufactured Armored Marine Assault Vehicle (ZAHA), capable of operating both at sea and on land, was utilized for the first time.
As part of the exercise, medical equipment was airlifted by Chinook helicopter to TCG Anadolu, which also functioned as a hospital, while wounded personnel were transported by helicopter and submarine. To simulate civilian rescue operations, soldiers were deployed near Sarısu Beach by helicopter as an advance team. Upon descent from the helicopter using ropes, Underwater Offence (SAT) and Underwater Defence (SAS) teams arrived ashore via boats.
The civilians and personnel were rescued. In accordance with the scenario, three domestically manufactured ZAHA vehicles, capable of amphibious operations, came from the sea and landed.
