Turkish Contractors Union President Erdal Eren, a top position watcher, announced that there were 23 Turkish companies among the biggest 225 international contracting companies in the world in 2008. Noting that every year the biggest 225 international contracting companies are determined by an international construction sector magazine “Engineering News Record” (ENR), Eren also stated that income earned from the previous year’s works abroad was taken as a basis in the research. Erdal Eren gave the information that in 2008, 23 Turkish contracting companies made it to this list while reminding the fact that in 2007 there were 22 Turkish contracting companies on this list. According to the information given by Eren, the Turkish companies that made it to the ENR list are as follows: “Nurol, Enka, Gam, Renaissance, Tekfen, Yüksel, Kayı, Baytur, Tav,, Mak-Yol, STFA, Hazinedaroğlu, Summa, Gap, Yenigün, Cengiz, Rasen, Doğuş, Alarko, Mesa, Yaşar Özkan, TML, Üstay.” Based on the announcement, Turkey, is the third country on the list with the most contracting companies.
