The armoured combat vehicles in the inventory of the Turkish Land Forces will undergo comprehensive modernisation. To meet the needs of the Turkish Land Forces under the Armoured Combat Vehicle (ACV) Modernisation Project, a contract worth ₺900 million has been signed between the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and ASELSAN, as the prime contractor. Within the scope of the contract, the firing power, situational awareness, survivability, lifetime and operational capabilities of the vehicles will be increased, and the critical subsystems used in the vehicles will be indigenised. In the context of modernisation and improvement works, prime contractor ASELSAN will integrate the vehicles with NEFER unmanned turret systems, featuring a 25 mm cannon, a laser warning system, a close range surveillance system, a driver’s vision system, a direction finding and navigation system, and instrument panels for the commander, gunner, personnel and driver. In addition, the ACV platforms will be integrated with air conditioning, heating, fire extinguishing and explosion suppression systems by subcontractor FNSS. The armour and mine protection levels of the vehicles will also be increased, and maintenance and repairs will be carried out. As a result, the ACVs will be equipped with modern weapon systems and ASELSAN’s high-tech mission equipment. Thus, the survivability of the vehicles on the battlefield and their strike power efficiency will be significantly increased.
