TÜMAD MADENCİLİK’s Native Plant Cultivation Initiative

TÜMAD Mining’s İvrindi Facility has established three greenhouses to rehabilitate areas post-mining and promote environmental sustainability, growing native plant species from seed that are compatible with the local ecosystem. The goal is to increase regional plant diversity and revitalize degraded lands by creating conditions in the greenhouses that mimic the plants’ natural habitats. These efforts reflect TÜMAD’s environmental responsibility, aligned with sustainable mining practices and biodiversity conservation. In 2024, the facility worked to produce seedlings from 30,000 local seed species.
