The official opening of the SHERATON BATUMI HOTEL that was built in city of Batum in Adjara region of Georgia as a whole Nurol investment with a cost of 80 million dollars took place on Monday 17 May with the participation of the President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. More than 400 guests comprising the Ministers, Members of the Parliament, businessmen and press members from Turkey and Georgia attended the ceremony. Erdoğan mentioned the Sheraton Batumi Hotel as the shining star of the Black Sea and thanked the Nurol Holding and Çarmıklı family for such a beautiful work. In the ceremony, the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili gave the “Order of State of Georgia” to the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and granted a commemorative plaque in memory of the street which was named after him to the Nurol Holding Chairman, Nurettin Çarmıklı. Sheraton Batumi Hotel which is the first 5-star international hotel in the Adjara Region that is promoted as the Tourism Region of Georgia is expected to attract a great number of tourists to the area.
