The tube tunnel and 5 stations of Marmaray Project, which intends to integrate all rail systems in Istanbul with each other, were put into service with a ceremony held yesterday. The President Abdullah Gul, the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the ministers as well as the President of Somali Hassan Sheikh Mahmud, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and Prime Minister of Romania Viktor Ponta attended to the ceremony in Uskudar. The Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a speech during the opening, he noted that “Marmaray is a peace project from Peking to Tokyo and to London. Japan and we are taking another step. We are going to construct the nuclear power plant together with Japan, France and Turkey. We are going to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic with greater works.” Erdogan also extended his thanks to the project’s contractor companies Nurol, Gama and Japan TAISEI.
