After the opening of Osmangazi Bridge and the new highway to Bursa, a new retail model along with a new transportation alternative was created, based on the fact that Otoyol İşletme ve Yatırım A.Ş., founded by the producer consortium, decided to include 33 service points along the road between İstanbul-İzmir itself, all of which are gathered under a concept brand known as “Oksijen”.
With this unique model, the company has created what can be described as the longest street or arcade in the world, with set concepts at all centres along the 405 km road. Once the service quality is standardized along the road, total retail turnover is expected to exceed 500 million dollars. Alp Gürdil, the General Director of Otoyol İşletme ve Bakım A.Ş., which will undertake the management of the commercial areas of Otoyol İşletme ve Yatırım A.Ş., says the road will become crucial for the people in the region, as well as for business travellers and vacationers, bringing economic values along with a high level of service quality at each point.
