NUROL REIT completed its first green building. Nurol Tower, the first project realized by Nurol REIT in Mecidiyeköy, the heart of İstanbul, unites the comfort of a luxurious residence with the capabilities of a house and office under a single structure. Nurol Tower, with its high efficiency in water and energy conservation, has also been named a candidate for the LEED Green Building Certificate, the world’s most prominent certification program in the related field. Nurol REIT General Manager Samim Hatipoğlu, after exerting the increasing need for environment-friendly and efficient green building, stated, “We are aiming to develop societal awareness and set an example for the sector by pioneering the change.” Hatipoğlu pointed out their candidacy for LEED Green Building Certificate and added, “We will ensure up toanan 100 percent efficiency by utilizing rainwater and cooling system condensate water for landscape irrigation. Heat conservation of 24 percent is aimed by means of the favored types of building façade coating. In respect of the cooling systems, on the other hand, a 50 percent conversation is provided. We will derive 50 percent water conservation by using sufficient batteries and reservoirs. As for the building wide total energy conservation, the ratioyanımda has been calculated as 25 percent. Carbon footprint of Nurol Tower was reduced by 3266 tons, which is the equivalent of 4474 trees.”
