Estonian President Alar Karis visited Nurol Makina, one of Türkiye’s leading defense industry companies, to inspect the Yörük 4×4 armored vehicle firsthand. The visit included discussions on Türkiye’s achievements in the defense industry and its contributions to NATO. Also in attendance were Defence Industry Agency Vice President Mustafa Murat Şeker, Nurol Holding Vice Chairman Oğuz Çarmıklı, Nurol Holding Board Member Gürol Çarmıklı, and Nurol Makina General Manager Engin Aykol. President Karis emphasized the significance of the Yörük 4×4 for the Estonian Armed Forces, highlighting its tailored design for Estonia’s defense needs and compliance with world-class quality standards.
During the visit, Nurol Makina General Manager Engin Aykol highlighted the company’s exports to over 20 countries and its growing success in the international market. He also detailed the Yörük 4×4’s enhanced armor protection, high maneuverability, and logistical advantages, particularly its 11-passenger version, specifically designed for Estonia. The discussions underscored Estonia’s strategic role within NATO and the growing defense cooperation between Türkiye and Estonia. The visit is expected to further strengthen bilateral ties in defense and technology.
