Nurol Makina introduced its EJDER YALÇIN 4×4 and YÖRÜK 4X4 tactical wheeled vehicles equipped for different missions at DSEI 2019. EJDER YALÇIN was displayed with an RS400 Mk2 turret equipped with a 30 mm autocannon manufactured by the remote controlled weapon system supplier EOS.
The RS400 Mk2 solution comes with a 30×113 mm M230 LF autocannon. Stabilised on two axes, the weapon, when carrying 75 rounds of ammunition and armour protection, weighs approximately 400 kilograms. Although the weapon system is relatively light considering its firepower, the 30×113 mm ammunition constitutes a significant load, as each round weighs almost 350 grams. EJDER YALÇIN, in turn, captures attention with its 4-ton payload carrying capacity in addition to its own weight of 14 tons. This allows the vehicle to carry more ammunition for long-term combat missions. According to EOS, the turret can fire precisely up to 2 km while on the move, thanks to its fire control system, which incorporates a special algorithm.
Commenting on this new vehicle configuration, Dr. Anıl Karel, Deputy General Manager of Nurol Makina, said: “Firstly, I would like to note that this weapon system has the highest firepower ever mounted on a 4×4 vehicle manufactured by the Turkish defence sector, and which was made possible by this solution. At this point, the weapon has been successfully integrated onto the vehicle, facilitated in part by EJDER YALÇIN’s design, which permits stable and vibration-free driving, but also due to the capabilities of the weapon system.”
