The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has awarded the 2024 Environmental and Sustainability Gold Medal to TÜMAD Madencilik for its exemplary environmental and social initiatives in Çanakkale Lapseki and Balıkesir İvrindi. Through its efforts in water and carbon footprint management, pollution prevention, gender equality programs, and support for local economic development, TÜMAD has been recognized as a benchmark company in Türkiye’s mining sector.
TÜMAD General Manager Hasan Yücel emphasized that receiving this award—competing among projects from 60 countries—reinforces the company’s commitment to environmentally and socially responsible mining. He expressed his gratitude to all employees and underscored the award’s significance in advancing sustainable mining practices across the industry.
