To commemorate the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan, a special dinner was hosted in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Ankara and the Sheraton Hotel. Japanese chef Otsuka Koki partnered with the hotel’s Executive Chef Zeki Açıköz to create a menu that blends Japanese and Turkish cuisine. During the event’s opening remarks, Ambassador of Japan to Ankara, Katsumata Takahiko, praised Turkish cuisine. He highlighted its unique fusion of Eastern and Western influences, diverse cultural elements, and extensive use of ingredients and cooking techniques. Ambassador Takahiko also noted that Turkish cuisine holds a revered status in Japan as one of the world’s top three cuisines.
