A painting exhibition by Tomur Atagök, who since the mid-70’s has been the focus of attention due to her works on women’s rights and environmental issues she did on metals, started at the Nurol Art Gallery. The former Grand National Assembly of Turkey President İsmet Sezgin was also among the people who came to the opening of the painting exhibition called “ Plays, toys, children, war, love and diaries. The works of the artist, whose purpose is to give social messages using art received a lot of favorable reviews. Globalization through consumption is series made from postcard size collage paints in the diary section formed by paper waste from the materials used, eaten and drunk by, and invitations and pictures of Tomur Atagök . By seeing that almost everything she herself uses is being used by other individuals in the society, the artist says that this reminds us how globalization can assume a unifying quality by way of consumption.
