Construction works in Hasankeyf on Turkey’s fourth largest bridge have reached the final stage. The paving works have been completed, and one lane of the bridge will enter into service in the coming weeks. Constructed to provide access to the new residential area of Hasankeyf as part of the Ilisu Dam construction works, Turkey’s fourth largest bridge, featuring 14 piers, will provide a connection between Batman, Mardin and the Habur Border Gate. Officials stated that the asphalting works will be completed soon, saying, “the Hasankeyf bridges will provide access to Hasankeyf. ‘Hasankeyf Bridge 2’ is the tallest and longest bridge in Mesopotamia and the Middle East, and is the fourth largest bridge in Turkey.”
