The engines being produced indigenously for the Turkish Armed Forces will be made ready in the course of this year, and will start to be used in 6×6 and 8×8 armored land vehicles next year. Nail Kurt, General Manager and CEO of FNSS, said: “It seems that an engine with 450 HP at first and with 550 HP in later stages will come up at the latest by the end of the year. We foresee to use this engine in the tests to be conducted for 6×6 and 8×8 vehicles in 2021. We will be able to demonstrate an armored vehicle powered by an indigenous engine in the course of 2021. If you ask the question, “Who wants to see an indigenous engine and transmission in Turkey the most?”, the answer would probably be FNSS, because we frequently encounter the problem of not being able to offer them in our vehicles.”
