Bekir Pakdemirli, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, stated that 600 million cubic metres of water was currently being stored in the llısu Reservoir, and added: “It is expected that the llısu Dam, which will store 11 billion cubic metres of water, and the associated HEPP, will contribute ₺2 billion annually to our country’s economy.” Minister Pakdemirli noted that the works related to the Ilısu Dam, Turkey’s second largest after Atatürk Dam in terms of volume, are continuing as planned.
